Thanks for your interest in joining the Fort Worth Basketball Officials Association (FWBOA), a chapter of the Texas High School Basketball Officials Association (THSBOA). Our association provides basketball officials for school sanctioned games in Tarrant County and the surrounding western and southern areas. Our assignors schedule games based on your experience and availability, the latter of which you will control online via the ArbiterSports website, which is used to assign you games. You are paid by the school district at state-established rates.
If you are brand new to officiating (or have only a few years of experience), we hold free weekly classes in September and October to prepare you for the season, including rules, mechanics, administration, and the required uniform. If you are an experienced official new to the area, our chapter camp will be held in early September, and is the best way to learn from experienced officials and get evaluated by our assignors.
To signup for the upcoming season, please complete the steps below:
1. Register with THSBOA – Click this link and complete their registration form. If you already have an ArbiterSports account, login before starting the registration process. Otherwise, you will create an account during registration. Be sure to select the Fort Worth chapter when prompted. You’ll pay your state dues ($50 before July 1st, $75 on or after July 1) during this process.
2. Complete the FWBOA application – Click this link and complete the registration form & independent contractor agreement. If you are an experienced official, please fill out the portion of the form that details your prior experience.
3. Pay your local chapter dues – Dues for first year officials (never registered with FWBOA or THSBOA) are $50 and can be paid below.
